The presentation on poisons that are lurking in a senior's home by Leanne Hancock from the Drug and Poison Information Center on April 22, 2015 was very informative and useful. Here are some photos taken at the presentation.

Wrap-up Party 2014 Photos
The BSOSS annual end-of-year Wrap-up Celebration for 2014 was held on December 10 at the office premises. The event was attended by more than 20 BSOSS members and staff member, Lori.
The event started with Linda organising a game of Charade. Everyone had a most enjoyable time trying to guess the various phrases, song or movie titles with a seasonal/end-of-year theme. This was followed by a game of "Pick-or-Steal a Present" whereby a person can either pick up a present or take it from another person (who then can pick a new present).
The merry-making continued with Alfred (and his guitar) leading the group on a sing-a-long of seasonal songs. By now everyone was really hungry and so it was time for all to start feasting on the sumptuous pot-luck lunch laid out on the table. The party ended with a silent auction of several items.

Burnaby Lougheed Lions Club Donation
The Burnaby Lougheed Lions Club generously donated $1,000 to BSOSS at their annual presentations night on June 5, 2014. This is an annual event where this service club gives back to the community funds raised in its charitable activities throughout the year. BSOSS is a grateful recipient of their largess which is applied to our Peer Counselling program.
Burnaby Lougheed Lions Club members focus on their admirable bicycle refurbishing and used eye glasses collection programs. Old bicycles which would otherwise be trashed are collected, repaired, and given to lucky recipients around Christmas time. If you have any old eye glasses, you are welcome to donate them to the Club for recycling.
